About this Product
This stunning Byzantine variant and Helm weave bracelet is the perfect accessory to infuse a touch of boldness into any ensemble. It features a secure magnetic clasp for hassle-free wear, measuring 8 inches in length and 1 1/4 inches in width.
The intricacy of the "Byzantine chain," or Byzantine weave, dates back to around 300 BC. It is celebrated for its elaborate, rope-like texture and flowing, organic design that catches the eye. While the true origin of the name "Byzantine" remains a mystery, it has become a popular moniker for this beautiful chain maille pattern, which is also affectionately referred to as "Etruscan," "Birdcage," or "Idiot's Delight."
On the other hand, the Helm chainmail weave, known as the Parallel Weave, boasts a rich history rooted in Celtic lore. This distinctive chainmail pattern utilizes two sizes of rings, with the smaller rings skillfully connecting the larger ones to create a visually striking design. The straightforward nature of the weave belies its unique behavior, making it a captivating choice for jewelry lovers. This bracelet seamlessly combines ancient artistry with modern flair, making it a must-have addition to your jewelry collection.

Meet the Maker
Making chainmail for over 20 years.
I began my journey into chainmail after being captivated by the vibrant Renaissance festivals I attended as a child. Those magical events, filled with knights, jesters, and elaborate costumes, sparked a lifelong fascination in me. As an adult, I continued the tradition by taking my own children to these festivals, deepening my appreciation for the artistry involved in historical craftsmanship.
I am proud to say that I am a self-taught chainmailer, having honed my skills through countless hours of online tutorials and resources. My passion for creating pieces grew so much that I found myself generously giving handmade items to friends and family, sharing my love for this art form. It was my husband who suggested that if I was enjoying the process so much, I should consider turning my hobby into a small business. Encouraged by his support, I opened my first shop on Etsy, where I began to share my creations with a broader audience. Since then, I’ve launched a second store on GoImagine, both of which operate under the same name.
Creating chainmail brings me a sense of relaxation and fulfillment that I have struggled to find in other activities. There’s something meditative about getting into a rhythm while working with the metal rings, transforming them into intricate designs. I thrive on challenges and love exploring new ideas, so if there’s a specific item you envision that isn’t available in my store, feel free to reach out! I would be delighted to take on the challenge and craft something unique just for you. Chainmail truly is my Zen place—where creativity and tranquility intersect.
