About this Product

When your tiny person likes to twirl and flounce, this is the dress. A little ruffle in the sleeve, and layers of ruffles in the skirt, a little magic in the bow at the back. Play Laura Ingalls Wilder on a Tuesday, Goth Princess on a Wednesday, Victorian steampunk sleuth on a Thursday, maybe Marie Curie on a Friday--the dress has potential for every imaginative scenario your child cares to concoct and the care and well-made details to survive every encounter.

This dress is one of a kind and is a kids size 7/8.

Meet the Maker

I am a long-time seamstress who started out as a costume maker.

In college, I majored in Chinese Art and Fine Art and picked up sewing in my early twenties through my husband and family. I love colors, design and making things with my hands that have meaning. Sewing became a way for me to "paint" with fabrics.

A lot my early 20's was spent as a camper and Larper (Live Action Role Player). After years of experimentation and practice, I learned how to make my costumes, and my clothes, more durable, longer lasting, and more comfortable.

Family Ties:

When we started a family, I started making clothes for my kids and I wanted them to last through playing and washing and being handed down and through the constant and varied abuse that kids wreak on their clothes.

My passion is really in making things that people love with the characters, stories, themes and art that they love in their lives. I think of it as functional nerdy costuming. You’ll think of it as the favorite thing in your closet.

Mask Masking:

Just as I evolved to meet my needs as a gamer and a mother, I am evolving to meet the needs of the world in a pandemic. I have read as much literature as I can on fiber content, breathability, and protection, and followed the CDC’s guidelines to the best of my ability.

While I am educating myself, and trying to keep up with changes as they are made, I am by no means a professional maker of PPE. I do not have the equipment to do proper filtration testing which is the only way that I recommend anybody assume something is medical grade.
