Meet the Maker
My journey in the world of sewing started at the age of eight with the delicate art of hand embroidery. By the time I was twelve, I progressed to constructing my own clothes with a sewing machine. Over half a century of crafting with needle, thread, and an array of materials is a testament to my passion for sewing. The variety of items I've created over the years is very diverse and each one a unique expression. For the past few years, I’ve also been sourcing new and old materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill. My sewing room is where imagination and creativity are exercised daily!
How it’s Made
Beginning with the idea of how I imagine coffee, "Coffee is creativity!" I started by staining unbleached muslin with real coffee, using a coffee cup bottom as a stamp and coffee splatters from a spoon. Then, I digitized my embroidery design. I designed the coffee pot as an applique to show that coffee has creative ideas in it to begin with. Having the “ideas” peering through the “glass” pot and then pouring over into the cup and beyond. In the “glass” pot are various items used for sewing and crafting plus real coffee beans. The yarn “coffee” is sewn into the spout applique. I wanted the “coffee/creative ideas” to appear to be flowing out of the pot from the spout. After the machine design was stitched out on the coffee-stained canvas, I embellished the hanging. I used odds and ends from jewelry charms to beads and buttons to dangle from the “creative juice”. I also added a zipper for the frame. Afterwards, I backed and bound the hanging with the same coffee-stained muslin. Then I used sewing machine bobbins for the finials of the hanging rod, and I wrapped the sewing machine bobbins with jute to use for the hanger.

I accept returns under the following conditions. Item returned must be in the original new condition. Must contact me within 7 days of delivery. The item must be shipped back within 14 days of delivery. I accept cancellations as long as the item has not already shipped. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs.
