Hand-carved 'cosmic' egg meditation focal point on wood base. The cosmic egg is a symbol of rebirth, transformation, the beginning of creation.
At approximately 4" tall and 3-1/2" at its widest point, the Cosmic Egg may be cradled in the palm of the hand as part of the contemplative experience.
Incorporate this focal point into your meditation practice, gift it to one going through a 're-creation' experience, or keep it close as a reminder of creation energy available to all.

Meet the Maker
For paintings, my process starts with mixing the colors that are inspiring me, connect to my years of experience as a master SCUBA diver, training flight crews for high altitude work, and background as a jazz musician. The common theme is flow—water flows, air flows, music flows. Then I allow the paint to flow and manipulate it with spreaders, cups, rings, my hands, gravity, and time, until the image emerges. Much like the way a through line emerges in music, or wave pattern in the ocean. The energy of the paint organizes into the image we create together. For commissioned paintings, it’s essential for me to speak to the recipient, get a sense for who they are and what adventures life is inviting them to have. When I am holding the recipient in my mind as I work, the universe respond with an image or pattern that is perfect for that client. I’m humbled and amazed, every time, to see the recipients first view of the work created especially for them.
How it’s Made
Epoxy resin is carefully mixed with colored mica to product vibrant color and fluidity and molded into a cylinder that is hand turned on a lathe into the egg shaped by the artist. Hand polishing and wet sanding builds the high-shine finish. Wood bases are upcycled from the artist's larger sculpture projects. Extensive sanding results in a soft glow to the wood without varnish and satin finish, preserving the fluid feeling of transformation and creation.
