Michelle Shaffer, Owner
Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know a little more about my background. I learned to crochet over 40 years ago in Junior High School Home Economics class. Actually, I continued making blankets and small things like scarves. Then I branched out and learned more when YouTube became popular. In 2015 I started making crocheted jewelry, which led to beaded, stamped, and wire wrapped pieces. Creating Dreamcatchers using crocheted doilies, beads, and natural elements like seashells has become another favorite. At present I am learning to knit and I enjoy acquiring new skills. Married since 1985 my husband and I have two children and three granddaughters. We retired in 2021 to Eastern North Carolina in Jacksonville, near the ocean with our 3 dogs and 2 cats. My family is from the area so it is good to be back and discovering my roots, going to the beach and delving into North Carolina’s extensive history.

SHIPPING POLICIES
At this time I am only shipping via U.S.P.S to the United States. I am not able to offer International Shipping at this time. U.S.P.S. Shipping starts with Ground shipping but you can upgrade your shipping if you desire. If you need another form of delivery please contact me at michelleshavennc@gmail.com to see if other arrangements can be made.
Most of my items are not very heavy and average around $5.00 U.S. Dollars for Ground Shipping. This price varies on how heavy the package is and how many items you order. At times a Free Shipping promotion maybe offered.
Processing & Delivery Times
Once you place your order it will take approximately 1-2 business days* to send your order out. Custom Orders will have a different time scale that will be stated in the details of the item description. Once your order is sent out you will receive an email notice with a tracking number for U.S.P.S. You may go to their website at https://www.usps.com/ to track your package. It will take another 3-7 business days** for it to arrive.
Please be aware that holidays and weather may impact this delivery time frame. If a holiday is coming up please add a few extra days for delivery. Once it is in U.S.P.S. hands I can not control the delivery date but I do monitor all my packages.

RETURNS, EXCHANGES, DAMAGES & LOST PACKAGES
I offer a 30 day return policy. Please contact me prior to returning any item. Please be aware that a replacement will not be available since the majority of my items are handmade and not made in multiples. You may exchange your item for another of an equal or lesser value and be refunded the difference or receive a refund within the first 30 days. I do not accept refunds or exchanges on customer orders. Return postage is the buyers responsibility.
If your package is lost or damaged by the delivery service please contact me as soon as possible or before 15 days. I will refund the cost to you or offer an exchange. After 15 days the offer is null and void. Please contact me at michelleshavennc@gmail.com

How to Keep Your Handmade Jewelry Looking Its Best
Thank you for choosing my handmade jewelry! Each piece is crafted with care and attention to detail, using quality materials designed to last. To ensure your jewelry stays beautiful for years to come, please follow these simple care instructions:
• Avoid Water and Chemicals: Remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, or using cleaning products. Water and harsh chemicals can tarnish or damage delicate materials.
• Store Properly: When not in use, keep your jewelry in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box to prevent scratches and tangling.
• Handle with Care: Put your jewelry on after applying lotions, perfumes, or hairspray to avoid residue buildup. Always handle gently, especially when putting on or taking off.
• Clean Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe your jewelry after each wear. For deeper cleaning, consult care instructions specific to the materials used in your piece.
• Avoid Impact: Try not to drop or knock your jewelry against hard surfaces, as this can cause chips or breakage.
FAQ’s
1) Metal Allergies: Anyone can have or can develop an allergy to metal. I try to use nickel free products and metals that limit these reactions; however, some people may still have them. To prevent these reactions, I suggest using a product like SkinGuard or a jewelry protective coating to coat the metal. This is the best way to prevent a reaction.
2) Patina and Tarnish: Over time sterling silver and copper will patina or tarnish especially if you wear your jewelry while bathing or swimming. Use of a cleaning cloth will help to prevent the tarnish or patina. If you have any stones in the piece, you can also use a soft bristled brush with a cleaning solution or mild soap and water to gently brush over the stones to clean. Dry with a soft, clean cloth.
3) Hemp Jewelry Care: Hemp is a natural fiber. Wearing this material while swimming, bathing, or sleeping will make this material break down faster and cause breakage.
