In kitchens that are a little tight on space, sometimes you need just a little more storage. Add this small counter top shelf and turn a flat counter into a work station. With the help of this beautiful and sturdy shelf we created a coffee & tea/oil & vinegar station next to the stove. If you already have butcher block or other hardwood counter tops and cutting boards this clean design will blend seamlessly. Use it for spices, mise en place, or on a work desk to help keep book organized. As with all our products you can select either an ebony or natural finish and pins that can match or not for an accent with the joinery.

How it’s Made
I personally design and manufacture 100% of all Forest Avenue Home products. I describe the style as mountain modern aesthetic with classic through tenon joinery and hint of rustic construction. Pieces were inspired by needs my wife and I have around our house, and new pieces are continually being designed and prototyped. Parts are cut from hardwood on my wall mounted CNC router in small batches in my home workshop. More work on the router tables clean up the edges and round over the tenons.
With hand tools, the parts are refined for a snug fit and quality assurance. Once everything fits to my satisfaction I apply a hand rubbed oil and wax solids finish in either a clear or ebony. The pegs are made in batches as well. I only finish them in clear. The dark pegs are made from black walnut and light pegs are either hard maple or ash that can be chosen to blend in or pop as an accent. Most pieces are made to order, but please inquire about inventory or specific requests.
I chose solid hardwood for its strength and beauty. As a natural fiber it can expand and contract with humidity and temperature so you may need to sung up the pins if they become loose. Each piece is different with unique grain patterns. Excess moisture can cause warping and color change. To maintain the beauty of your wood furniture, clean as needed with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Avoid excessive moisture, solvents or prolonged direct sunlight.
