About this Product
Light up your dark space with one of these made-to-order custom light boxes. Each one is created with wither a chipboard or metal box base, art papers and custom vinyl or paper designs to create the shadows when lit.
The photos shown are of two boxes previously ordered; "Some Pig" and "The Great Conjunction". These boxes are a fantatsic way to celebrate something near and dear to you by ordering a custom design for that favorite book, movie, lyric, poem, and so on. *No designs that belong to "The Mouse" will be done*
Each box is one-of-a-kind, however there are certain aspects that are the same throughout, such as the lights- battery operated "fairy" LED string with on/off switch easily accessible. Batteries are not included. They all include your choice of metal or chipboard/cardboard box and size (within those choices). And they all come with delicate, intricate, hand-designed and placed artwork.
When you custom order one of these, I will work with you to ensure the design is just right for your light. These take quite a bit of design and creation time, please plan for at least 30 days of creation time.
The boxes: For metal, you can get 2.25 inches square, 4.5 x 3.3 inches, or 5.9 inches square. For chip/cardboard, you can get 3.5 inches square, 11.75 x 7.75 inches, or 12 inches square (there is a possibility for a size not listed, it depends on availability).
The price varies dependent on size and design. All custom pieces require 50% non-refundable deposit, with the other half due before shipping.

I do my best to use ethically sourced and sustainable materials whenever possible. This also includes shipping, where I do what I can to reduce unnecessary effluvia from packaging.

Meet the Maker
Hello! I'm george, a proud indegenous queer maker. I've cultivated many skills throughout a lifetime of making. I like to bring all of my experience and skills from many different areas (fiber arts, paper art, traditional crafts, and so on) to create one-of-a-kind designs.
I like to find clever low-to-no waste replacements for disposable products (mostly through fiber arts like crochet and sewing). For these items, I do my very best to use sustainable materials, as responsibly sourced as possible.
Every item I make is completely unique and of my own design, ensuring you one-of-a-kind creations.
When I am not creating, I can be found helping out on a farm (especially if I get to hang with goats) or driving my home on wheels down the road of grand adventures.
How it’s Made
Each light is handcrafted to order. I start with a simple box, I place the lights inside and create a pocket for the battery pack. Then I choose the Background paper(s) to go along with the design I created based on your request. Each design is drawn, then digitally formatted into an SVG to be cut out on a machine for precision. The design, in either vinyl or paper, is then put on to the background.
The whole process is done hand, except the cutting, and creates a one of a kind nightlight.
Shop Policies
- Unless otherwise specified (custom designs for example) items should take 3-5 business days to be ready to be shipped. For custom orders: please message me directly for estimation of time and prices.
- Any returns must be done within 14 days of receiving the item. Custom orders will not be returnable unless they arrive damaged.
- Care instructions will come with your item.
