Custom fireplace surround These are EXAMPLES of custom fireplace surround mosaics. I can do something similar for a backsplash, or relatively any surface in your home. Each mosaic is made to order and features glass mosaic tiles in whatever colors you choose - or I can choose the colors for you. PLEASE NOTE: PRICE VARIES DEPENDING ON SIZE OF PIECE. Due to the large size of this item I do not offer free shipping for custom fireplace surrounds. Fireplace surrounds are shipping via a fine art shipping service in custom-built wooden crates; cost for shipping usually ranges from $500-$700. Shipping cost will vary depending on size and weight, and I will charge actual cost for shipping rather than a fixed price. My process: you contact me and provide me some ideas for what you would like. Your idea can be as simple as "birds and flowers," or as detailed as “two herons, nasturtiums, etc." Once I hear your ideas I send you a sketch of the design, receive any feedback you have, and we work together until you are happy with the proposed design. Meet the Maker
I see mosaics as painting with glass. I strive to create detailed works of art that evoke a love for nature and wildlife.
After leaving my full-time job in June, 2017 I began to pursue art full-time, and quickly discovered a passion for glass mosaic. Drawing inspiration from our natural environment, particularly the San Francisco Bay Area, it gives me great joy to create beautiful images of trees, flowers, fish, bugs and birds. I have created and sold hundreds of individual works of art, including commissions for fireplace surrounds, backsplashes, tables, portraits, and wall and window art.

How it’s Made
This surround is 38" high, 8 1/2" wide, and 51" across the top. I made it in three separate pieces, with mosaic attached to 1/4" cement backer board, and it is attached to the original brick with construction adhesive. I can make any size and ship to you with installation instructions. All mosaics from Nora Cody Mosaics are created on either a 1/4" thick piece of hardibacker cement board, or 1/2" GoBoard, both of which are durable, weather-resistant and lightweight. These unique mosaics make a wonderful accent for any home. Due to the custom nature of this handcrafted mosaic, please allow up to 4-8 weeks to create and ship.
