You can choose from three distinct finishes, and each piece comes with a wall-mount and an optional 3D-printed table stand. For personal touches, your dog’s name, family name, or a building’s title can be laser engraved on the frame.
How It Works:
The better the photo, the better the final masterpiece! Clear, bright, close-up shots yield the best results, but I’m happy to work with any image you love. If you’re unsure if your photo will work, just ask! Most of the time, I can turn your cherished image into a stunning carving.
Photo Transformation: I start by converting your photo into a detailed 3D model, using skill, patience, and an eye for detail.
Approval Process: You’ll receive a digital proof of the model to review. Once you love it, we move to the carving stage.
Carving & Detailing: The carving process can take 4 to 10 hours, with my tools meticulously passing over the wood twice—first for larger details, then with a .05mm precision level to capture the finest features.
Finishing Touches: I apply sealant and your choice of a dark, light, or two-tone stain to highlight the wood’s natural beauty, creating a timeless, polished piece.

Hey there, dog lovers—and creative enthusiasts! My passion for pups began over 60 years ago when I got my first furry friend as a kid, and that love has only grown stronger over the years. I’ve explored countless techniques to capture the unique essence of our beloved companions. As a lifelong woodworker, I eventually found my true calling in carving, but my craft has expanded into so much more.
About a decade ago, I decided to refine my skills and began crafting custom dog carvings in wood. With a background in digital sculpting (from an animation studio I once owned), I combined tradition with technology—using a CNC machine to bring intricate digital designs to life in wood. But it didn’t stop there. Inspired by the love of preserving cherished memories, I expanded into creating 3D family relief portraits, architectural building designs, and even specialized DIY kits for other makers.
Friends and family were the first to request my work—whether it was a heartfelt memorial for a beloved pet, a timeless keepsake of their furry companion, or a unique way to celebrate their family or home. Before I knew it, Kharash Creations had grown into something more: a hub for custom, one-of-a-kind creations that bring joy to pet lovers and families alike. Kharash is Hebrew for the word craftsman. Having been a maker all my life it seemed only fitting to call my shop Kharash.

How it’s Made
Here’s the exciting journey to transform your cherished photos into custom carvings—whether it’s your beloved dog, a treasured family portrait, or the unique charm of a building!
Step 1: Send the Photo
Start by emailing me your favorite image—it could be a clear, close-up of your furry friend, a beloved family moment, or a stunning building shot. Photos should be at least 2,000 x 2,000 pixels for the best results. If the photo needs adjustments, I’ll work with you to get it just right!
Step 2: Digital Magic
Next, I transform your photo into a detailed 3D model. This step usually takes a day or two, and I’ll send you a preview to review. If you have tweaks or suggestions, this is your chance to share them! Once everything is perfect, we’re ready to start carving.
Step 3: Carving in Full Swing
The carving process takes about seven hours. During the first pass, excess wood is removed, and in the second pass, I use a special micro bit to bring out intricate details, ensuring every feature—whether it’s the twinkle in your dog’s eye, the warmth of a smile, or the lines of a building—is beautifully captured.
Step 4: Sanding for Smoothness
I meticulously hand-sand the carving, starting with 320 grit and working up to 400 grit, making the surface smooth and flawless, just like your favorite memories deserve.
Step 5: Sealing and Finishing Touches
A sanding sealer locks in the wood, followed by another round of fine sanding. Then, I apply the finish you’ve chosen—dark, light, or two-tone. After two days of drying, the carving is ready for its final details.
Step 6: Personal Touch
For added personalization, I’ll laser-engrave your dog’s name, family name, or building title onto the frame. I then apply two coats of a flat clear finish to protect and enhance the lifelike details.
Step 7: Ready to Display
Finally, I attach a hanging bracket to the back and provide an optional table stand, so your custom carving is ready to hang or display anywhere you’d like.
