Meet the Maker
At the heart of Lakeborne Creations are Darius and Bethany Gary — a husband-and-wife duo who blend creativity, craftsmanship, and a love for functional design. What began with a $60 table saw from Facebook Marketplace has grown into a small business built on passion, purpose, and a whole lot of sawdust!
Darius, originally from Detroit, Michigan, and Bethany, from Erie, Pennsylvania, both grew up near lakes — a shared connection that inspired their business name Lakeborne Creations. Their signature series of cutting boards proudly bears the names of the Great Lakes, while other handcrafted pieces pay tribute to lakes throughout Michigan and Pennsylvania.
From their home woodshop near Pittsburgh, PA, the couple designs and handcrafts hardwood cutting boards, trivets, coasters, and other timeless pieces of home décor. Each item is thoughtfully made to be both beautiful and practical — something you can use every day, gift with meaning, or even pass down for generations.
With the recent addition of a laser engraver, Darius and Bethany have been able to personalize their work in new and exciting ways, offering one-of-a-kind pieces that tell a story. Whether it's a custom-engraved board or a fresh design, every creation reflects their love for craftsmanship and their joy in building something of their own.
