About this Product
The Patchwork Peddler
Meet the Maker
Hello. I was a special education teacher for thirty-four years! I am now retired and am spending much of my free time sewing.
My mom did a lot of sewing when I was a child. She made most of our clothes until we were old enough to protest. We did not appreciate having unique, homemade clothing at that age.
I took an interest in learning to sew at a young age so my mom started teaching me. I sewed off and on throughout my life when I had extra time. Now that I have more time to sew I am honing my skills and learning new skills by reading books and watching videos. I enjoy the creative process.

How it’s Made
While I don't use a pattern to make my quilts, I do use a pattern to make the aprons. In case you don't know the process of creating something using a pattern and sewing machine, you start by laying out the pieces and pinning then on the fabric. You then cut the pieces out, being careful not to stretch or wrinkle the fabric while you cut. This stage is a good time to also cut the interfacing that will be needed to make some parts of the item more stiff. Next, the directions are followed in order to assemble the item. This involves sewing, ironing in the interfacing, more sewing, ironing seams flat, and more sewing. Voila! Item made.
