About this Product

This decorative dish stand happened because I wanted a multifunctional piece. I like being able to use one item for different things if I want to. I decided to start with the plate. It had a minor chip under the edge. So, I decided to make a flower to improve the look along with a scroll. And that was out of pearls. Then I added some lace pieces on top. The "stand" was once a flowerpot. They made the perfect couple to become this decorative dish stand. Now, it's ready to serve goodies for your tea party or be used as a jewelry holder. Or you might even come up with another idea. A unique one of a kind item!

Meet the Maker

I’ve always loved creating, with a philosophy of renew, redo, and repurpose. My work includes scarves with a unique edging technique, fabric baskets, soft fabric pins, and repurposed treasures like wooden spool scissor holders and chipped china jewelry trays.

Driven by both sustainability and imagination, I transform scraps and vintage finds into functional art while also designing new, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each creation is made with care, carrying its own quiet story of transformation.

Inspired by the meaning of my name, Madeline, I see my work as a tower—grounded in strength, elevated by creativity, and open to light. I’m deeply grateful for my supportive husband, our blended family of four children, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren—my greatest motivators. And of course, Ollie, our four-legged house boss, who graciously allows us to share her home.

How it’s Made

A lot of times when I repurpose dishes, I will pick one I really like to get started. If it has too many blemishes or issues or chips, I'll put it aside and go on to the next. I really liked the color of the burgundy in the plate as well as the color of the flowers. So, I was ready to make her better for what I wanted to do. Time to get pretty, so I chose to add some lace on top and pearls under the edge to correct her flaw. I started with the pearls and used a special glue with a lot of patience! Once that had set, then I turned her right side up and added the pieces of lace trim on the burgundy. When I saw the flower pot, I knew they would look great together, so glue time happened. Now, she can be used for serving yummy items, maybe at a tea party, or hold some favorite jewelry. A one of a kind!
