About this Product
Inspired by the Ruth Bader Ginsburg dissent collar, I designed and tatted this handmade lace collar necklace.
Using high quality Lizbeth cotton cordonnet thread (color "Arctic Evening"), I made the lace by hand using the technique of shuttle tatting. The lace motif measures about 5 and 1/2 inches across (14 cm), 2 and 1/2 inches (6 cm) high, and the total necklace length is adjustable from 16 inches (41 cm) to 18 inches (46 cm) with a lobster style clasp.
If the necklace becomes dirty over time, simply hand wash gently in sudsy water, rinse, re-shape, and lay out to dry.
Tatting is a type of lacemaking that was very popular in Victorian times. My original design retains the charm of Victorian craft while being 21st century modern.
The necklace arrives in a white gift box tied with ribbon inside a corrugated shipping box.
