Electroformed leaf with abstract embellishment comes with choice of black waxed cord or copper chain. Two leaf styles to choose from and has a heavy coat of copper. Made from a real leaf from plants grown by Em in her garden. The leaf becomes nonexistent from the electroforming process.
The leaf has been oxidized, raised surfaces polished and then coated with a clear coating to protect from further oxidation. Comes in gift box with information sheet. A statement necklace makes a great gift or keepsake.
Approx. Specs:
~ Frilly leaf has 1.25 ounce of copper and is 1 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide. The frilly leaf plant is a hardy perennial that has been in Em's garden for so many years the tag is long gone - hence the term she uses for this item.
~ Spearmint leaf has one ounce of copper and is 2 1/2" long by 1 1/4" wide. Spearmint is a creeping perennial and great for seasoning and use in beverages.

Care: Please don't submerge in water and store in dry place between use. Keep away from harsh chemicals and clean with a dry cloth as needed. Copper can last forever with proper care.

How it’s Made
What is Electroforming?
It is a way to turn natural botanicals into metal by building up a layer of copper on the item which preserves it forever. Em picks the leaf from her garden, covers it with conductive paint and places it in an electroforming solution that has copper sheets or pipe suspended in the solution. Low voltage DC current is passed through the solution via anode (+) attached to the copper and cathode (-) attached to a wire on the leaf that holds it down into the solution. The electrical current takes copper from the sheeting or pipe and deposits it onto the leaf. The process can take anywhere from a day or two.
The longer the leaf is left in the bath, the thicker the layer of copper that is deposited on the leaf, leaving a pure copper piece when finished. Em then antiques the copper, polishes it and puts a protective coating over the top. No two pieces are ever the same, and the process can produce interesting and unique results. Shipping: USPS Ground Advantage with tracking. Orders are shipped out within one to three business days. Once shipped, arrival depends upon the postal system, and the purchaser can check tracking to see when it says "out for delivery". Free shipping over $60 - see shipping fees below.
Returns: There is a 14 day return from the date of receipt subject to the following return policy and exclusions: Returned items must be unused, pre-authorized and in original package or container to receive a product refund or credit. In addition, item/s need to be in the same condition as received.
Shipping costs are not refundable unless goods are damaged in shipment or there has been an order processing error on our part. In the event an order was eligible for free shipping and returned, there is a $5.95 minimum s/h charge that will be deducted from the refund amount. In the event of an exchange, the normal shipping fee will apply to the outgoing shipment.
Natural products: Many of Em's handmade products are derived from natural materials or ingredients. Therefore, any variations in size, color, aroma, texture or other differences that can happen with these materials are considered normal. Specifications and sizes are noted to the best of her ability. Color shades can also be slightly different than shown in photos due to factors such as lighting and/or an individual’s monitor display.
