About this Product

This listing is for a Renaissance-style dress in silver and black, perfect for your next faire or festival! The outfit is ready to ship.

The outfit consists of a bodice and skirt only. The high-necked white linen shirt is NOT included, and can be purchased separately in this shop, or I can make one just for you.

Sizing: The bodice should fit the following measurements:

Bust (fullest part): 35.5-39.5"

Waist (natural waist, not where most people wear their jeans): 27-31"

Actual garment measurements:

Bust: 33.5"; Waist: 26". The actual measurements of the bodice are smaller than the ideal body measurements to allow for "squishing." If your measurements are on the larger side of the size range, there will be gaps at the side, and there are generous modesty panels to cover any such gaps.

The side-lacing bodice is constructed of a silver and black flocked damask – the design is in raised velvet, and the background is taffeta. It is lined in silver satin. Five steel bones supply support across the front, with four more at the lacing edges. Bones are sandwiched between two layers of canvas. There are no princess seams or darts; the front is flat for a period look. Lacing at both sides provides maximum adjustability.

The skirt is made of black satin. It features an elastic waistband, and measures approximately 45" from waist to hem. All seams are finished with French seams (raw edges completely encased), so there are no modern serged edges if the hem flips up. The hem is done by hand, and can be shortened if you'd like. If you would prefer, usually your local dry cleaner or tailor can adjust the hem. The hem measures 188" which should fit comfortably over your hoop skirt (not included), but would also look nice without one.

This style gown is usually worn over a chemise or shirt, which is not included in this listing. If you would like to special order a puffy chemise or a shirt, please contact me and I will set up a separate listing for you. Fabric possibilities include cotton, linen, or satin.

Again, this listing includes the bodice and skirt, and the outfit is ready to ship.
