Welcome to Glitter by the Sea! I’m Jess, and I’m truly blessed to share my story with you. After experiencing a miscarriage and the onset of a chronic pain condition, I found myself at a crossroads. One night, overwhelmed and in prayer, I realized I had a choice: to succumb to my pain or to rise above it. I chose to rise, and thus, Glitter by the Sea was born.
Art has always been a beloved part of my life. From childhood, crafting with my mom and friends brought me immense joy and relaxation. As I navigated through darker times, I turned to these cherished activities to shift my focus from pain to positivity. This led to a newfound passion for candle-making, which quickly became a source of peace and joy for me.
Wanting to share this light, I created Glitter by the Sea to brighten others' days and offer a bit of sparkle and positivity. The magic of glitter, coupled with the serene beauty of the beach and celestial realms, is woven into everything I create.

How it’s Made
How my candles are made:
Each candle is a labor of love, carefully handcrafted to bring a touch of coastal charm, tranquility and a hint of celestial magic into your home. My process begins with selecting high-quality, up-cycled materials, ensuring both beauty and sustainability.
1. Design and Mold Creation: Each candle is hand-poured with natural soy wax, a renewable and biodegradable material. Soy wax burns cleanly, offering a soot-free and toxin-free experience. Additionally, its slow-burning nature ensures a longer-lasting candle.
2. Melting and Pouring: I use premium soy wax, which is melted to a precise temperature for optimal pouring. (Please note that, as each candle is hand-poured, the volume may vary slightly.) The wax is then infused with a captivating fragrance oil/essential oil, delivering a refreshing and uplifting aroma.
3. Adding Decorative Elements: Once the wax is poured into the mold, I embellish it with carefully selected seashells, sparkling crystals, dried botanicals and a sprinkle of glitter. These decorative touches are meticulously arranged to create a beautiful and eye-catching finish.
4. Cooling and Finishing Touches: After the wax has cooled and solidified, the candle is then inspected for quality and any final adjustments are made.
5. Packaging: The final step involves packaging the candle with care, ensuring it arrives at your door in perfect condition, ready to bring a touch of the ocean and a hint of celestial magic to your space.
Candle Care Instructions:
1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the wick to about ¼ inch to prevent soot and ensure an even burn.
2. Burn Time: For the best results, allow your candle to burn for 2-4 hours each time. This helps the wax pool evenly and prevents tunneling.
3. Keep It Safe: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, vibrations, flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets. Place on a flat heat resistant surface.
4. Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame to avoid hot wax splatters. Avoid blowing out the candle as it can create smoke.
5. Storage: Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its scent and color.
6. Recycling: Once the candle is finished, consider recycling the jar or container. The wax residue can be washed out with soap and water.
7. Please keep in mind: Some candles have dried botanicals. Please keep watch for fire. You can remove any items from inside the candle once the wax is slightly melted. As the candle burns, the seashells and crystals will sink into the wax. This is fine. Crystals will not be damaged and can be cleaned with soap and water and added to your collection. Never pick lighted candle up! Contents will be hot!
