Our ever-popular luffa sponge soaps are back!!! These English Lavender goat milk soaps are made with all natural ingredients and have the luffa sponge embedded into the soap bar. We make our goat milk luffa sponges by inserting a luffa sponge - grown without pesticides or chemicals - into a tube long enough to hold our 10–12-inch luffa sponges. Then the goat milk soap base (scented with lavender fragrances and sprinkled with dried lavender buds) is poured over the luffa sponge. It is allowed to set until hard and then the soap cylinder is removed. At that point we cut it into slabs that are anywhere from 1.5-2.5 inches thick (depending on how steady my hand is when wielding the soap knife). These are rustic farm soaps and each and every soap will be different. The soaps are packaged into clear cellophane bags with header. Fun Fact!!! Did you know that luffa sponges are actually part of the gourd family and are grown in gardens across America? They are harvested from the garden at the end of the season, covered with a hard shell-like lining. The shell is peeled away to reveal a fibrous interior that is excellent for the exfoliation of those dead skin cells. The luffa sponges have been carefully selected for their texture. Many commercially grown luffa sponges can be hard and rigid, which does not give you that spa-like feel in your shower or bath. These luffas have the same fibrous texture but have a gentler touch when added with our all-natural goat milk soap. Meet the Maker
Michael is Louisiana born and bred. He married a northern Minnesota farm girl and after retiring from the Air Force he found himself living in the woods of MN where temperatures can get lower than his Louisiana freezers. But he has adapted well.
Dawn is a Minnesota farm girl turned 1st grade teacher. She married her southern man and after he retired from the Air Force they moved back to her family farm. She has a passion for children, gardening and wholesome, simple foods .
After retiring from the military we purchased the farm Dawn was born and raised on in northern Minnesota with the hopes of finding a simpler lifestyle. With a great deal of faith and prayer we began working the land and found our passion. Our gardens grew, our fruit trees grew, our passion grew. We are personally involved in every step of our jelly and herb production. We till our soil, plant our crops, weed our gardens, and harvest our bounty. Our goal is always to provide a product that we would proudly serve on our table, to our friends and family.
We started out with simple vegetables grown for our local farmer's market and that expanded into homemade jams and jellies, artisan coarse ground mustard, herbal products and crafts. As we worked the farm in the summer heat and brutal winters, we soon found a need for quality skin care products and created our lotions and lotion bars.
All our fruits, berries and herbs are grown without chemicals or pesticides and are picked at the peak of ripeness, so the flavor is at its best. My jams and jellies are made with only a few key ingredients, so you won't have any problems trying to figure out what you are eating. They are gluten free, non-GMO, vegan and contain no artificial chemicals and preservatives; but only loads of sun ripened fruit, sugar and gluten free apple pectin Our herbs are also grown using natural, holistic practices and our herb products are also gluten and sodium free and non-GMO.
How it’s Made
We believe in simple, authentic farm practices so you can serve your family wholesome products and gift to your friends, as well. We don't believe in using chemicals, pesticides and other "stuff" to do what has been done for centuries. Why mess with what works?
We are in compliance with state and federal laws in our product production. We have been certified and licensed by the state of Minnesota and we do our best to follow all safety procedures.
