About this Product

This is more than a writing instrument—it’s a tribute. A meticulously handcrafted twist pen that fuses American pride with enduring craftsmanship, it features gleaming chrome hardware and rich Exhibition Maple Burl—a wood so full of figure and flame it practically glows.

At the clip: a detailed eagle, wings unfurled, descending onto a full-color vertical American flag. At the center band: “God Bless America” is engraved in polished chrome. And at the top, etched into the finial, a bold USA emblem framed in laurels. This pen was designed to evoke admiration the moment it's drawn from a pocket.

Whether you're commemorating service, celebrating heritage, or simply love well-crafted Americana, this pen tells your story—boldly and beautifully.

Key Features:

  • Striking Exhibition Maple Burl Body: Swirling golden grain with chatoyance—impossible to ignore, impossible to replicate.

  • Full Chrome Hardware: Durable and timeless, complementing the richness of the wood without overpowering it.

  • Eagle + Flag Clip: Symbolizing vigilance and pride, this sculpted detail brings movement and purpose to the design.

  • “God Bless America” Center Band: Etched deeply into the hardware—clear, proud, and permanent.

  • Twist Mechanism: Smooth and intuitive, with a premium feel—no click here, just deliberate motion.

  • Refillable Ink: Uses standard Parker-style refills for lasting usability.

  • Weight & Balance: Substantial in hand but well-balanced for everyday writing or occasional display.

Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Chad—the craftsman behind every piece at StoneWood Designs.

I’ve been a woodworker for as long as I can remember. Whether building something practical or designing something purely for beauty, I’ve always found joy in shaping raw materials into lasting, meaningful objects. In recent years, that passion led me to the lathe—where form, texture, and purpose come together in a way that’s both meditative and endlessly creative.

From pens and bowls to holiday décor, kitchen tools, and desk accessories, everything I make starts with one thing: exceptional material. Living in Las Vegas means I have to work hard to source great wood—but I see that as a feature, not a bug. I spend hours tracking down the right pieces, often working with other small makers across the country to find sustainable, unique woods and hybrid materials. I pride myself on pairing each one perfectly with its hardware, so the design feels complete—intentional from start to finish.

If I had to sum up what I hope you feel when you see or hold one of my pieces? Evocative. Whether it’s a pen that reminds you of the ocean or a bowl that feels rooted in tradition, I want it to spark something. A memory. A mood. A sense of connection.

Supporting handmade work keeps these skills alive—and keeps small makers thriving. I’m proud to be part of that, and I’m grateful you’re here.

How it’s Made

Every pen begins as a raw block of Exhibition Maple Burl—a rare cut selected for its wild figure and visual depth. After hand-turning the blank on a lathe to exacting proportions, it’s carefully sanded through a progression of grits to achieve glass-smooth clarity.

A multi-layer gloss finish is applied by hand, sealing the natural figure without obscuring it. Chrome components are then assembled with precise care, with every ornamental element aligned for symmetry and meaning.

No two Exhibition Maple Burls are ever the same, and no pen leaves the bench unless it meets both visual impact and mechanical perfection.
