That is 336 square inches of entertaining power.

About our boards:

* Handmade in our own little shop by just me, meaning, each board is unique and the texture varies piece to piece.

*Wood variations include, but not limited to: knots, lines, dots, grooves, divets, pigment figure, holes, etc.

* Rustic reclaimed live edge wood, finished and sealed with a food safe oil and our very own board butter.

* Color can vary from light brown to dark brown - we use the same finish on every piece but it can soak into each unique piece of wood differently

* These are charcuterie boards, not cutting boards. These are lighter in weight than a standard cutting board since these are used for serving and are often moved around

* Care instructions come with each piece

What NOT to do with these boards:

* Do not chop or cut on these boards

* Do not scrub these when wiping down or the finish could fade

* Do not soak or put in the dishwasher

* Do not let deep pigment foods sit directly on the board or it could stain the finish

Meet the Maker

Somewhere in the mountains and valleys of western North Carolina lies a small woodworking shop named Ash Creek Woodworks. This shop is located on 4th generation property. It is operated by my wife and myself. Inside this shop you will discover power woodworking tools dating back to the 1950's that still are in use today. Also, you will find hand tools that were my grandfathers. By the way, I am a grandfather myself, that lets you know how old some of these tools are. The hands of his great, great grandson have also used his tools. My grandson loves to help his Gramps in the shop when he visits. Also, you will find some modern tools such as variable speed routers, thickness planers and cnc controlled laser to name just a few. We endeavor to provide our customers with a high quality hand made American product at a reasonable price. The vast majority of our resources (wood) comes from local suppliers. We feel this is the most environmentally friendly way for us to conduct business. This also provides jobs to our local economy.

For us, taking a rough sawn slab of wood and turning it in to an attractive product for our customers is very rewarding. As well as taking a piece of 100 year old barnwood and turning it in to something useful instead of it winding up on a burn pile. Whether it's the first pass through the planer and watching the grain come to life or sanding the project through the grits of sandpaper, with each progressing grit you can feel the surface become smoother and smoother. Then at the end when you have hand rubbed the fourth coat of finish on and the wood just glows there is deep satisfaction in what you have created. Thanks for reading our story and we hope we can create something for you.
