About this Product

The price shown is the deposit. Any design of your choice can be made-to-order in your size on your jacket or on one of my studio blanks. I will machine embroider a design. I will create a design using lace, fabric, patches - whatever your vision is, I will try to make it happen. I have used vintage wedding gowns, table cloths, t-shirts, appliqué, and children's drawings to create designs.

The process:

1) Message T R E C E Designs with your request.

2) Choose a jacket of your own. Send it to me (at your expense). OR choose one of my studio "blanks" - pre-worn jackets that I have in stock. Prices vary from $6 to $35.

3) We talk and you tell me your vision. I love to personalize. You pay a $50 deposit.  I do the work.

4) Full payment is made. I ship to you. Allow 4-6 weeks.

COST: There is no average cost. Each jacket is different. Remember you are purchasing a one-of-a-kind made-just-for-you piece that you will cherish and wear forever. The most expensive jacket I have sold was $325 - all hand work of crystals and lace. Sleeve embroidery will cost an additional $40 each sleeve for the opening and re-sewing of the sleeve. The same goes for the leg of a pair of jeans.

Washing Your Embroidered Garment

DO wash in alone in cold water on Gentle or Hand-wash cycles. A large lingerie bag is helpful.

DO hang dry. An automatic dryer could cause too much friction on the threads.

Press embroidered areas with a medium hot iron. PRESS - not iron- areas with thread.

NEVER wash in hot water.

NEVER leave in water to soak.

NEVER wring.

ALWAYS hang dry.

Dry cleaning is not recommended due to use of chemical cleaning agents.

Meet the Maker

Hey, call me Trece.

I started sewing about 100 years ago, at age 12 on a knee treadle machine my parents paid $35 for.  They upgraded my sewing experience to a Kenmore in 1974. And that's how it began. I still use that Kenmore. It chugs through layers of the toughest denim without a broken needle or thread.

I grew up in BC - before computers, before cell phones. Way back in the days of reading books, playing dress up, house, or school, and dancing in the street to Martha and the Vandellas, Dancing in the Street, with my babysitter named Pat. Listening to Peter and the Wolf on vinyl in a house constantly filled with music.

Today, I am a retired Cat Herder (aka middle school teacher), with a stash of beautifully colored threads and time to use it. I am inspired by words and color in my wee portion of the world. I create jackets that tell stories, make statements, and declarations. I love what I do and I love to wear it. I hope you will, too.
