Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.

How it’s Made
This sugar jar is hand-built using slab construction, giving it a soft, organic shape. Real fern leaves are pressed into the clay while it’s still damp, leaving behind delicate, detailed impressions. After drying, the piece is bisque fired, then carefully glazed in a mossy green to highlight the texture. A final glaze firing at 2300°F seals the surface and brings out the natural beauty of the botanical design. The lid is also handmade and finished with a sculpted loop handle for easy use. Every jar is one-of-a-kind—made slowly, with care, in my studio on our little farm.
