About this Product
I hand make each valet box from start to finish, meaning every box is a unique, one-of-a-kind, personal gift perfect for friends and loved ones.
This box is a one off creation, as I wanted to try working with colored epoxy to see how I liked it. It turned out very nice, but in the end I've decided to stick with wood and veneers. This box is crafted from nicely figured cherry and features unique padauk and blue epoxy inlays with a striking blue and red epoxy lid. Soft royal blue velvet bottom protects precious objects inside and special hold-open hinges mean the top will rest open unsupported (do not force past open position).
Generic boxes are mass-produced using computers and lasers, and are made of soft inferior woods like pine and oak that easily splinter and chip. But I carefully craft my boxes by hand out of specially selected hardwoods that are not only beautiful but also extremely durable. The inherent rich colors of hardwoods also mean that no staining is necessary; the color will never wear off but will stay warm and luxurious for years to come. I do, however, occasionally stain the mahogany veneer of the lid insert so that it blends better with the natural color of the hardwood box. I always try and use sustainably harvested wood whenever possible.
Experience the difference of artisan craftsmanship with this beautiful wooden valet box to become a timeless treasure for you or a loved one.

A Finer Cut Woodworking
Meet the Maker
Woodworking has been a passion of mine for the past 40 years. I especially love making boxes because you can display several different features in one small item.
When I started working with hardwoods I realized that the beauty and distinct character of each wood could shine with nothing but a clear finish on it. This, combined with their strength and durability, make domestic and exotic hardwoods my favorites to work with.
I've made boxes over the years for family and friends as special gifts for weddings and baby showers, and after recently retiring I hope to spend more time in my basement shop creating handmade memories that you can share with your loved ones like I've been sharing with mine.

FAQs
How do I order a photo inlay box?
After you order the box, send me an e-mail with the photo you want used as an
attachment to the e-mail. If there's any issue with the photo (i.e. size or clarity) I'll contact
you and we'll work it out.
Do you do custom work?
I don't do any custom work per say, I only make the items I have listed. I have occasionally
made minor size variations of the items I already sell, but nothing that involves specific colors.
Can you do engraving?
No, sorry, I don't have any way of doing engraving.
