The glowing stars of our childhood, fireflies or "lightning bugs" and those magical summer night memories.
The original oil pastel painting was the beginning of the "Midsummer Night's Dream" series, and this lightning bug print brings the magic of fireflies inside your home.
We don't get to see them all summer long down here in Florida, but for two magical weeks each spring in nearby Blue Springs State Park, the forest turns into a sparkling fantasy as the local species comes out for their breeding season.
Florida has many species of "lightning bugs" yet we see less of them as their undisturbed natural habitats are being developed. Yet I somehow see fireflies before big changes and windfalls in my life. They are my cosmic driftwood. Sparkles before the magic hits.
Every spring & summer, 10% of sales from "Fireflies" and the "Manatee Mystics" series will be donated to Friends of Blue Spring State Park.

This print measures 8"x10 with an image size of 5"x7", comes on an archival foam core backing with an acid-free mat and signed at the bottom of the print.
It is printed on heavyweight, premium fine art paper.
Print will come in a protective clear bag and will be shipped to you in a sturdy print box via USPS Ground.

I'm most inspired by nature, esoterica, and the indelible human spirit. As a stroke survivor with chronic illness, it's important to me to encourage others to see the beauty we rush past in our modern lives. Our lives are so short and the little things deserve to be celebrated.
