About this Product
This reproduction sampler is a cross stitch pattern inspired by an 18th-century Mughal tile from the Sindh Province in present-day Pakistan. This blooming plant resembles daffodils, which are the first flowers to bloom at the end of winter, announcing the beginning of spring and signifying the end of the cold, dark days. So, daffodils symbolize new beginnings and hope. They are also symbols of creativity, energy, resilience, forgiveness, and vitality, and the 10-year wedding anniversary flower. The pattern consists of only full cross stitches, so it is perfect for stitching on Aida, evenweave, and linen fabric. There are some small sections of tweeding/blending of two thread colors. If you don't want/like to tweed/blend, I suggest that you take the two colors and find a color in your stash that is a happy medium of the two colors or use a variegated/dyed blue-green thread. I know you will be able to pick a lovely color to fit these small sections.

Hello and welcome to Ancient Sage Designs!
I am Shazeeda, the embroidery designer and owner of this little shop. Many generations removed from the Indian subcontinent, I am from ‘the land of many waters’, Guyana in South America. Not knowing where my Indian ancestors came from, I am drawn to the artifacts in museums that have been displaced from their native homelands. I am inspired by centuries-old architectural tiles, ceramics, and textile patterns.
Drawing from the artistry of the Ottoman, Mughal, Mauryan, Roman, and Egyptian empires, I love transforming ancient and natural patterns into cross-stitch embroidery charts and crafting the models you see in this shop's product listings. I enjoy showcasing the beauty of our world's cultural and natural histories through embroidery art.

How it’s Made
My patterns are created from the inspiration that I get from patterns that I find in our world's museums or in our natural environment. I personally model stitch each pattern as I enjoy the stitching process and believe it is important to test stitch to ensure a high quality pattern. Some patterns take a month or two to design, and sometimes, months to stitch depending on how quickly I can stitch them and how big they are. I know all cross stitchers can appreciate this. Our hobby is a labor of love whether we are stitching a pattern for ourselves or as a gift for a loved one. The art of embroidery and especially cross-stitching is a wonderful craft to get us to slow down and watch something beautiful emerge with time using needle, thread, and fabric. I hope you love the designs that I create and will enjoy stitching them.
