About this Product

Hat Description:  The yarn for this crocheted hat is a variegated fluffy yarn with shades of blue, purple, and gray. This yarn is very soft. The colors in the hat are a bit muted. The hat is about 8 inches from the top to the bottom, and about 19 to 20 in diameter. I use the word "about" in my description because this yarn crocheted in this matter will stretch, so this hat will fit most heads. Also, there is a lot of fluff, so the word about in my measurements takes that into consideration.

Brooch Description:  To add some excitement to this hat, I also hand crocheted a brooch pin to go with the hat. In some of the pictures I have the pin actually attached to the hat. You could also add the pin to your favorite coat or sweater. The brooch pin is about 6 inches long, 3 1/4 inches at the widest part of the pin and about 1 1/2 inches at the narrow end. The pin is in the shape of a paisley swirl.  After I crocheted the pin, I then sewed on 8mm teal glass pearls, 8mm purple, or maybe more of a violet, glass pearl, 12mm textured silver pearls, and 8mm faceted purple rondelle crystals with an ab finish. The ab finish is a rainbow finish, and rondelle is the term for a sideways oval. So these crystals are about 6mm tall and 8mm wide. These purple crystals shine in purple, blue, and you can see silver when light hits the silver finish.  The brooch has two pins sewn to the back. This is because the pin is larger than your normal pin, and can be secured without worry that the pin will move from the hat or your favorite garment. What is also fun about this pin is that you can pin it any way you would like on the hat. It could go across the front brow, up and down by the ears, on the side with the wide end at the front, or the wide end at the back. You an have a lot of fun with this hat and pin.

Yarn:  The yarn is acrylic.

Measurements:  The hat is 8 inches from the crown to the brim, and is about 19 to 20 inches in diameter.  The brooch is 6 inches long and 3 ½ inches wide.

Processing:  This item is a finished product.  My processing time takes 1-3 days based on USPS holidays and Sundays.

Washing instructions:   Hand wash in cool soapy water.  Be sure your soap is a mild soap and you will only need to use just a little soap.  Rinse, then lay the item in a towel and roll the towel with the scarf inside.  Then press out the excess water.  Then lay the scarf flat to dry.  Once dry, if the scarf needs a bit of fluffing, you can place in a cool dryer for 1-2 minutes with a dryer sheet.

Environment:  This item was crafted in a smoke free and pet free home.

Packaging:  My packaging for my crocheted items is that I place them in a food grade plastic bag and place them in a mailing envelope.  If it is one of my larger items I will use a box.  The plastic protects the item in shipping in case the envelope or box gets wet.  Once you receive the hand crocheted item, shake it to fluff.  The scarf could smell a bit like the plastic bag when you get it...a bit of time out of the bag and this smell should go away.

Color:  Colors may vary based on the difference in electronic devices.

Meet the Maker

Thank you for stopping by!  My name is Terri.  I love to make jewelry, and I will make jewelry out of most anything!   I have been crocheting since I was six and love combining yarns for a unique texture and look.  If you have been to my shop before, be sure to sort by newly listed so you can see my new additions.  Let me know if you have any questions on my items.

And...yes, in the pic my readers do have the sticker showing the strength.  I have them in different strengths throughout the house.  I leave them on the readers so that if I happen on to an older pair with a lower strength, I can look at the sticker and not think I am going blind!

In this picture I am making dainty little necklaces and hair bows for my granddaughter.  I make my jewelry in the formal dining room.  My husband said we should not have bought a house with a formal living and dining room, because we do not use them.  Well, I am using them now!!!  I have foil down on my table to protect it...and it forms to the table so it worked well, and rubber gloves on so I do not burn my fingers while making the bows!  Just in case you were wondering...my mouth is open cuz I am talking.

Exactly what I was looking for, something short and light to keep my neck warm, indoors or out. The colors are lovely and so is the seller! She went the extra mile to help me with a problem I didn't even have!
