FRENCH PASTRY ROLLING PIN

• Sanded and buffed silky smooth, then finished with natural walnut oil and beeswax
• This rolling pin is made from Oregon Black Walnut
Each item is sanded to 400 grit on the lathe, then polished to 1200 grit for a satiny smooth finish. The piece is then finished with two coats of a food-safe finish, buffed again, and finally polished with a light coating of beeswax.
I’ve always enjoyed working with wood, enjoying both the creativity and the smell and feel of working with wood. When I was introduced to woodturning a few years ago, I discovered an exciting new way to express the beauty hidden in the wood. Woodturning is an avenue to create something of beauty from the ugliest piece of wood in the pile.

How it’s Made
Turned on my lathe, sanded and buffed silky smooth, then finished with natural walnut oil and beeswax. Wash by hand and wipe dry. If the finish begins to dull, rub on a coat of butcher-block conditioner.
