Meet the Maker
Welcome to Emerald Aura Tailoring!
My name is Samantha and I design and make custom skirts in exact sizes (no more guessing!) and makeup bags to match. Sewing is my passion when I'm not taking care of my adorable dog and spending time with my lovely family.
I've spent many years trying different crafts and careers trying to find what I was passionate about. In 2019, while driving long haul for a truck driving company, I stumbled across the sewing side of youtube. I had sewn many times when I was younger because my grandmother had a passion for sewing, embroidery, and other crafts. Her massive craft room always drew me in every time I visited!
I began making clothing for myself, learning all of the techniques for making beautiful high quality clothing that I could. When my closet began to overflow, I started making clothes for family and friends, who all exclaimed that I should make items for others. So here I am, offering to help you to get the great fitting clothing that you've always dreamed of.

How it’s Made
Before I begin, every fabric is washed by hand and hung outside to dry naturally in the wind and sun.
Once the prep work is complete, the fabrics will be ironed flat and the pattern cutting begins!
Careful planning ensures that each item is cut "on grain" to avoid any future sagging or twisting from improperly cut fabric. Lastly, I iron on a stiff layer of fusible interfacing to the inside of the exterior fabric to give it the structure it needs to stand on its own.
Now it is time to assemble.
Each piece is aligned and pinned before being slowly put through my sewing machine to ensure you get a straight strong stitch. Once the bag and the lining are complete, they are flipped to the right sides out and the lining is hand stitched closed.
