About this Product

Peanut Pumpkin (Galeux D Eysines): One of my favorites! This heirloom squash originates from Eysines, France, and is from the 19th century. This squash ( or pumpkin if you prefer) has a tan almost flesh-tone skin covered with crusty bumps. This has helped it earn its name the Peanut Pumpkin. This squash can get to be around 10-20 lbs. While it ripens, the sugars inside will concentrate and seep out of the pumpkin, helping to form peanut-like protrusions. The longer you let it grow, the crustier it will get! The sweetness will also significantly increase. When cut, the Peanut Pumpkin is sweet, velvety, and tastes like a cross between sweet potato and apple. The inside is void of the standard fibrous strings often found in other pumpkins, this means minimal prep when cooking. This squash is best pureed and used in soups, preserves, sauces, or pies. Instead of apple butter, why not try a Peanut pumpkin spread instead? Fruit can be expected in about 105-120 days from seeds being sown. This plant has long vines and will produce 2-3 good size squash. **All orders that include the purchase of 5 or more items will receive a free gift.

Meet the Maker

Welcome to Blue Pumpkin Seed Co.! My lifelong love of gardening, especially pumpkins, led me to create this company.

We started as a small family business on Etsy in 2020, sharing our passion for heirloom seeds. Over time, I took charge to ensure this labor of love would flourish. I'm thrilled to now offer you a carefully curated selection of seeds directly.

The wonder of watching a seed grow continues to inspire me. As a fellow gardener, I share the same excitement and joy for gardening as our customers do.
