How it’s Made
How It's Made: Designated Colors of purples and mosaics
Preparation:
Clean the vase thoroughly to remove dust and oils.
Ensure the surface is smooth by lightly sanding if necessary.
Applying Alcohol Inks:
Choose designated alcohol inks and apply them directly onto the vase using a brush or sponge.
Blend the inks to create a soft, gradient effect or apply them in distinct sections for a color-blocked design.
Let the alcohol inks dry completely.
Adding Sparkles:
Mix silver sparkles with clear alcohol ink to create a sparkle mixture, if nescessary.
Apply the sparkle mixture strategically over the dried alcohol inks to enhance specific areas or create patterns.
Allow the sparkles to adhere and dry thoroughly.
Resin Coating:
Prepare the epoxy resin and hardener mixture according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Carefully apply the first coat of resin over the entire surface of the vase, ensuring even coverage.
Use a brush or spreader to smooth out the resin and remove any bubbles.
Let the first coat of resin cure according to the drying time specified (typically 4-6 hours).
Additional Coats:
After the first coat has dried, lightly sand the surface to smooth out imperfections.
Apply a second coat of resin, ensuring it covers the entire vase evenly.
Repeat the sanding process between coats if needed to achieve a smooth finish.
Apply a third and final coat of resin to provide a durable and glossy finish.
Curing:
Allow the vase to cure in a dust-free environment for at least 24-48 hours to achieve maximum hardness and durability.
Result
This process results in a stunning vase with pallet of mosaics and purple colors and strategically placed silver sparkles, all encapsulated in a glossy resin finish. The final product showcases a blend of delicate colors and sparkling accents, making it a beautiful and unique addition to any home decor.
