Meet the Maker
Hi Everyone! My name is Mary Lowe and this is my shop, The Spicy Punkin! I am a country girl who lives in the Mountain State of West Virginia. I live in a small rural town called Wallace. It has always been a dream of mine to own my own small business, and so The Spicy Punkin was born. I am a wife and Mother to 3 grown children and Mamaw to 2 beautiful granddaughters, with two more precious Grandchildren on the way. I am also a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in 2016 with Hodgkins Lymphoma and went into remission in December of 2016. I have been in remission ever since. I love to create tumblers, mugs, socks, t-shirts, and all sorts of crafts. I am a DIYer at heart. We built our own home in 2010 and have lived in it ever since. I love to decorate in the Farmhouse style. Many of my crafts are Farmhouse style. When I am not creating I am enjoying my time with my family. My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years. We were both born and raised in West Virginia.
How it’s Made
Each Tumbler is hand-wrapped with a Sublimation Print that I print from one of my Sublimation printers. I wipe each tumbler with alcohol and remove the lint with a dry towel. I carefully placed the wrap and tape with heat tape. I put each tumbler into my automatic heat press and pressed for 3 minutes. After that, I turn it 180 degrees and let it press for another 3 minutes. I then take it out and put the end in for an additional 1 minute and then I press the top of the tumbler for another minute. This ensures that there is no ghosting on the tumbler. I then let it cool and peel the paper off to reveal a beautifully designed tumbler.
