1705 Market

Ridgefield, WA

Meet the Maker

  • Greetings, I'm Theresa, the founder and creator of 1705 Market, situated in my home studio in Ridgefield, Washington. Welcome to my GoImagine store; I'm delighted to have you here. I draw inspiration for my creations from the exquisite fabrics I work with. I take great pride in the quality of my craftsmanship, ensuring that my pillows are of heirloom standard. Many of my designs are unique, with a one or two-of-a-kind appeal, predominantly featuring a neutral color palette. However, I am open to exploring new styles if you have a specific request in mind.

  • I exclusively utilize premium natural fibers such as wool, leather, and linen. The majority of my fabrics are sourced from Pendleton Woolen Mills, a renowned Pacific Northwest company celebrated for its superior wools, skilled weaving, and active community engagement.

  • My journey in buying and selling vintage and antique items began when my children were in elementary school, and now I am a proud grandma of five! I acquired sewing skills using my grandmother's sewing machine during high school. In 2016, my passion for sewing reignited as I repurposed vintage textiles to craft unique pillows, which quickly gained popularity among customers at a boutique antique shop.

  • The demand for the pillows I created at the shop motivated me to further explore my creativity. A pivotal moment occurred during a weekend spent rummaging through a dusty garage in search of vintage treasures, where I realized my preference for the creative process over my current activities. This epiphany spurred me on a journey to design exquisite pieces for your living space.

  • Outside of my sewing studio, you can find me spending time with my husband, enjoying coffee with friends, cheering on my grandchildren in sports activities, or engaging in hobbies like gardening, canning, and baking sourdough bread.

How it’s Made

1705 Market pillow covers are custom designed and handcrafted in my non-smoking home-based dog friendly studio in Ridgefield, WA, USA.

I work with natural fibers (wool, linen, cotton, leather) and I use the highest quality materials I can find.  I am blessed that I can source the majority of my fabrics from Pendleton® Woolen Mills, a six generation family-owned company that has been in operation in the USA since the early 1900s.  I love that Pendleton has a strong history and commitment to support the work of our Country’s Native Americans.  When I was a young teen our family moved to Arizona and that is when I discovered and admired  the craftsmanship and items made by Native Americans.  Many of my Saturdays were spent wandering around the shops in old town Scottsdale perusing the baskets, jewelry, rugs, etc.  In fact, I still have some of the turquoise jewelry I purchased as a young adult.  When I moved up to the Pacific Northwest I was drawn to the southwest style fabrics and blankets that Pendleton Woolen Mills manufactures and when I learned more about the company it seemed like a natural fit for me to use fabrics that remind me of the Southwest.

Working in small batches means that, quite often, the products I create are one or two-of-a-kind, which translates that you will have something that not every one else has in their home or collections.

Care instructions

Wool pillow covers: To prolong the life of your pillow covers, we recommend dry cleaning as needed. Outdoor pillow covers: To clean, brush off loose dirt and spray your pillow cover with a solution of water and mild soap. Use a soft bristle brush to clean, rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed, and air dry. All other items: Spot clean as needed.

Stuffing Your Pillow Cover

Your pillow cover will accommodate an insert up to 1"-2" larger than the cover size. We encourage you to use care when stuffing your pillow cover. We reinforce our zipper seams, but applying too much pressure can rip the seams. To fill, fold your insert in half and gently pull the cover over the insert, then gently straighten the insert before zipping the cover closed.
