About this Product

After finding the Haviland saucer without a cup and a small chip, it was time to find a cup to go with it. This cup was perfect between the flowers and gold trim. There was a small blemish on the cup that could be covered so off to the scrap bin to find fabric for the pincushion and lace and flowers for the blemishes. The green fabric was the perfect pairing for all of it. First the blemish on the saucer had to be covered. Once this was done and it was setting up then it was time to attach the cup to the saucer. After that set up, the handmade pincushion was attached via glue, and the flowers were added to cover the blemish. There were some scraps left, so a trivet was made by covering clothesline with the scraps. Now you can enjoy coffee or tea while you quilt or sew.

Meet the Maker

I’ve always loved creating, with a philosophy of renew, redo, and repurpose. My work includes scarves with a unique edging technique, fabric baskets, soft fabric pins, and repurposed treasures like wooden spool scissor holders and chipped china jewelry trays.

Driven by both sustainability and imagination, I transform scraps and vintage finds into functional art while also designing new, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each creation is made with care, carrying its own quiet story of transformation.

Inspired by the meaning of my name, Madeline, I see my work as a tower—grounded in strength, elevated by creativity, and open to light. I’m deeply grateful for my supportive husband, our blended family of four children, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren—my greatest motivators. And of course, Ollie, our four-legged house boss, who graciously allows us to share her home.

How it’s Made

I had the pretty floral cup with its small blemish, and I needed to find the right saucer to make a pairing. I was thrilled to find the Haviland saucer even though it had a small chip. Going thru my lace scraps, I was able to find the right piece to cover it. Then I went looking for fabric to make the pincushion. The green and white blend was perfect. First, I covered the blemish on the saucer. After it set up, I attached the cup to the saucer. After another few days, I added the handmade pincushion to the cup. Once it set up, I then added the flowers to cover the blemish. I still had some scraps, so I made a trivet by covering clothesline with the scraps. So, now you can enjoy your coffee or tea while you are sewing or quilting.
