For this necklace, I've hand-knotted 25 smooth moss green and black prehnite briolettes in a tin cup or floating design on beige silk.
The teardrop-shaped beads are a pale yellow-green color with black inclusions. The stones have a pearly sheen and some show a lovely translucence.
I love knotting on silk - it is a very strong fiber and drapes gracefully when worn. This design has approximately a half-inch of beige silk displayed between the stones. Light, airy and versatile.
The necklace hangs 18 inches and is secured with a sterling silver lobster clasp. Easily goes from daytime into night. A lovely gift for a special person.

After spending my days working with computer programs, I love to spend time working materials with my hands in my studio in upstate New York. I've been hand-crafting jewelry for about 15 years, working primarily with gemstones, pearls, and precious metals. I enjoy the mechanics of putting beautiful components together - and sometimes being surprised with the results.
