About this Product

START WEARING PURPLE - A rich royal purple, with pink and mauve undertones. Base: CROONER is a 80% superwash merino/20% nylon fingering weight yarn with 400 yds/100 g per skein. Super soft and squishy, with a nice high twist to add definition and durability. Makes lovely socks, shawls, hats, sweaters, the sky’s the limit! Wool is sourced from South America and is mulesing-free. NEW: I now offer a tube-cranking service for sock yarn: Your yarn will come to you cranked into one long stockinette tube. All you need to do is add cuffs, toes and afterthought heels and voila! A pair of socks! Or else your yarn can be cranked into two equal tubes, with waste yarn knitted in where the heel will go. This option can be selected at checkout - $7.00 extra for a single tube, or $10 extra for two tubes with the afterthought heel marked. Just select the option you like and note your shoe size. Colors: I do my best to represent colors accurately. However, there may be some differences between colors shown on your monitor or screen and the product's true color, depending on the type and settings of your monitor or screen. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a convo! Care: Machine wash cool/cold (ideally on a gentle cycle) or handwash in warm soapy water. Your water temperature should be less than 104F or 40C, temperatures any higher can start to deteriorate the bond between the dye and the yarn. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low. This yarn is machine-washable! However, the gentler you can be when washing your handmade item, the longer it will last, which makes sense. I don't recommend color-safe bleach and definitely don't recommend regular bleach. Iron with a warm iron on the wool setting (if your iron has a wool setting) and with steam (if your iron has a steam setting). Dyeing Process: All my yarns are commercially-milled and hand-dyed by me in my tiny kitchen using acid dyes. I take great care in ensuring that my yarns are colorfast and that they are well-rinsed before shipping out, but it's possible to experience a little bit of bleeding during the first few washings as excess dye is rinsed out of the yarn. This can be influenced by the colors used (red and blue are common culprits) and by the hardness and temperature of your washing water. If the bleeding is excessive or persists after more than a few washings, let me know.
