About this Product

Wow your guests with a beautiful live edge cherry grazing board. Use it as a charcuterie board, meat and cheese tray, serving tray, or as a lovely wall hanging. Each board is special with its own grain pattern and different shapes. These make wonderful gifts for wedding, shower, housewarming, anniversary, etc.

The board measures approximately 18 X 9.25 X 1 inch including handle. It's the perfect size for a couple, or for a small group. My boards will have the bark removed and the edges sanded. There will be some variations of color where the bark used to be.

These boards are sanded all the way through the grits. For the finish sanding the board is sprayed down with water and allowed to dry over night. This process will raise the tiny wood fibers and the last sanding will leave it very smooth. It will then be conditioned with several coats of cutting board oil and finished with our own board butter . Occasionally reapply cutting board oil and board butter will keep it looking beautiful.

When we say handcrafted we mean crafted personally with our hands. We are personally 100% involved from the beginning of picking out the slabs to boxing it up for shipping and every step of the process in between.

We would never consider buying mass produced boards and passing them off as we handmade them..

Meet the Maker

Somewhere in the mountains and valleys of western North Carolina lies a small woodworking shop named Ash Creek Woodworks. This shop is located on 4th generation property. It is operated by my wife and myself. Inside this shop you will discover power woodworking tools dating back to the 1950's that still are in use today. Also, you will find hand tools that were my grandfathers. By the way, I am a grandfather myself, that lets you know how old some of these tools are. The hands of his great, great grandson have also used his tools. My grandson loves to help his Gramps in the shop when he visits. Also, you will find some modern tools such as variable speed routers, thickness planers and cnc controlled laser to name just a few. We endeavor to provide our customers with a high quality hand made American product at a reasonable price. The vast majority of our resources (wood) comes from local suppliers. We feel this is the most environmentally friendly way for us to conduct business. This also provides jobs to our local economy.

For us, taking a rough sawn slab of wood and turning it in to an attractive product for our customers is very rewarding. As well as taking a piece of 100 year old barnwood and turning it in to something useful instead of it winding up on a burn pile. Whether it's the first pass through the planer and watching the grain come to life or sanding the project through the grits of sandpaper, with each progressing grit you can feel the surface become smoother and smoother. Then at the end when you have hand rubbed the fourth coat of finish on and the wood just glows there is deep satisfaction in what you have created. Thanks for reading our story and we hope we can create something for you.
