About this Product
I hand-painted a scarlet tanager on a wood slice to create this handmade Christmas ornament. Although this beautiful bird overwinters in the tropics, I have had many requests for it, that I have added it to my holiday ornament offerings. The red on the bird does go well with the holiday season, and the overall effect of the ornament is a combination of rustic and nature aesthetics. I added an evergreen tree in snow fall to the back of the ornament against the natural wood grain of the slice. Not only do wood slice ornaments look great on your Christmamd tree, but they are also great gifts for any occasion at anytime of the year!
Wood type - pine
Ornament size - approximately 3 1/2 inches in height, 3 1/2 inches in width, and 3/8 inches thick
I paint with acrylics, and seal ornaments with polycrylic to prevent the wood slice from cracking and the paint from chipping.
Jute twine is threaded through the ornament for hanging
