This beautiful 5.25" Silver Maple kitchen canister has been crafted with pride and passion from locally sourced wood from Southwest Virginia. It has been finished with polyurethane for long lasting beauty and durability. It features a handmade knob crafted from African Blackwood. The interior of the canister is left unfinished and is perfect for things like salt, pepper, spices, herbs, coffee beans, or all your hopes and dreams. This unique canister promises to look amazing on your counter ( next to your spice grinder).

How many things in your home are really made with love?
Objects have an energy and the things that surround us can have an affect on our lives. This might sound a little strange, but its something I think about all the time while I am creating an object that someone will have in there home and be handled and used often. My goal is to create objects that are not only functional and beautiful, but contain all the passion and joy and love that was used to make them. It is my hope that all of that energy can be felt as soon as you pick up and hold one of my pieces.
How it’s Made
Every canister blank is selected and harvested by me personally. All wood is responsibly and locally harvested. The canisters are rough-turned and left to air dry for at least 9 months before they are re-turned and finished. They are left unfinished on the inside so they are food safe, and the outside is finished with several coats of durable polyurethane. I make every handle individually from African Blackwood to fit the box perfectly.
Shop Policies
Processing Time: All products are handmade but are listed on the site after completion. Each item is handmade and one of a kind. With that variations will occur. Custom orders are accepted however processing time will not be included in shipping. Maker will give a quote of price and processing time dependent on item, materials, finish, and order size at the time of order.
Rush Orders: All products are made & shipped according to the date the order was received. If you need your order in a hurry, there may be an additional fee which will range between $5.00 and $15.00 dependent on the complexity of the request. This fee will be quoted prior to rush agreement finalization.
Shipping: All products are shipped by United States Postal Service First Class Mail Service, First Class Package Service, or Priority Mail - depending on final package size & weight. A Tracking Number & Estimated Delivery Date will be provided, when applicable, upon order shipment. If you need your order delivered faster, or if you would like it shipped by a different carrier, please contact us for details & pricing.
Damage / Loss: Nicola Aloisio Woodturning is not responsible for damage or loss caused or occurring during shipment. Once your order is turned over to the shipping carrier, it is now their responsibility. It is suggested that you purchase or request insurance on high dollar value orders, for added peace of mind.
Handmade Disclaimer: All items listed are handmade. Unless the product is a custom order the item pictured is the item that will be received. As with all handmade, one of a kind items there may be imperfections. These are part of the character of the product.
Customs and import taxes: Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS
Cancellations: Cancellations are accepted prior to the item being shipped on non-custom orders. Customized items will be subject to a 20% restocking fee prior to shipping. After shipping all purchases are non-refundable.
Returns: Returns on non-custom products up to 14 days after the purchase in original, undamaged packaging. The buyer is responsible for all return costs, and the item must be returned in the condition it was received in. There will not be any returns for customized items.
