Meet the Maker
We live on a small semi urban homestead where there is never a dull moment. I'm a full time substitute teacher and I love to spend time in my woodshop. Our shop will contain an ever changing inventory of hand crafted items.
How it’s Made
All of our products are created at Soldier Farms homestead in Ohio. I craft these boards from hardwood such as hard maple, cherry and walnut. It begins with looking at the grain, arranging the boards for maximum beauty and interest, a painstaking process to ensure that the board has character and visual interest. Afterall if I don't like the way it looks on my workbench, you certainly will not like it on your counter top.
Cutting boards are assembled in the shop with top quality waterproof glues and are planed and sanded before a good safe mineral oil finish is applied.
