About this Product
The perfect accompaniment to your cozy reading sessions - a charming handmade quilt. Whether you're diving into Pride and Prejudice or Emma, this delightful quilt will add a touch of warmth and comfort to your literary adventures. Snuggle up and enjoy the timeless charm of Jane Austen's world with this lovely addition to your reading nook.
The quilt is made from the Jane Austen At Home collection of fabrics by Riley Blake Designs, which has reproduced these beautiful floral prints, as well as passages from her personal letters.
The background fabric is a soft shade hovering between blue and gray and is the perfect touch for a feminine space. Sized at 51 X 63, it is the ideal size for your favorite chair, or give it as a lovely and special gift to your favorite Jane Austen fan.
It has been professionally quilted with a delicate, curvy pattern.
Drape it over your sofa, ready to grab on chilly nights, or over a favorite chair to create a cozy nook. Fold it just so over a quilt ladder to add a focal point to your decor in any room. Place it in your guest bedroom to welcome friends and relatives. Fold it at the bottom of a bed to add a layer of warmth when needed.
The middle layer (the batting) is made of bamboo and silk -- I love using this because it's both natural and a bit lighter in weight than all cotton, though it provides the same level of comfort and breathability. It also has a beautiful drape.
The quilt is a generous throw size of 51 X 63. If size is important, please measure your space to avoid disappointment.
Everything in my shop is made in my clean, smoke-free home.

Meet the Maker
It took me by storm . . .
The first time I saw racks and racks of quilting fabric, I thought, "I HAVE to get this into my life!"
If you love color and pattern, you know what I mean.
I bought a sewing machine and took a class. The next thing I knew, I was accumulating quilting tools and fabric at a rapid pace. After a few years, I knew it wasn't a passing fad and I decided to open an online shop.
I've never looked back. It's still a joy for me to select fabrics for a pattern, then press, cut and sew the pieces into something that will bring comfort and joy into someone's home.
So, please look around and share in my love for this art form!
Linda

How it’s Made
This quilt was made by me in my home studio and quilted by longarmer Meghan Morris. Premium quilting cotton was used, along with cotton and rayon threads.
The middle layer (the batting) is made of bamboo and silk -- I love using this because it's both natural and a bit lighter in weight than all cotton, though it provides the same level of comfort and breathability. It also has a beautiful drape.
Buying a handmade quilt is an investment because each one represents many hours of loving labor. As a handmade item, slight imperfections are inevitable. Things may not be perfectly squared up nor the stitches flawlessly straight. Even so, every one is unique. This is what makes them such a beautiful addition to any home.

FAQ'S
- Quilt care: Quilts are machine washable in cold water. A detailed page of care instructions will be included with your quilt order. Should you misplace it, I'm happy to send a copy via email.
- Pricing: A handmade quilt is a labor of love, which is why they become treasured family heirlooms. From choosing a pattern and fabrics to precise cutting and sewing, basting the three quilt layers together and then quilting and binding, it's an intense and time-consuming process. Prices for embroidered pillows vary according to how elaborate the design is: the more colors and elaborate the design, the longer it takes to plan and stitch out.
