Meet the Maker
Grandma Magic (My first grandson named me that cause he couldn't say my name, and now they all call me that lol) I enjoy spending time with family and making things pretty, the grandkids and I love crafting together, every summer I spend 1 week with each grandchild one on one making crafts and painting, and swimming, taking care of the animals.
As for my painting and crafting journey I began late in life, I was found color blind when I started school, and back then was told i wasn't good at coloring and art. Teachers and parents didn't understand and was told I didn't have to do things requiring coloring of any kind. And if I did I I was told it was all wrong "The sky is blue not pink!" After being told I was bad at it for so long I believed I could never do anything that involved color or art.
A couple years ago wanting to help my grandson who is also color blind not feel as I did, I started doing art projects with the grandkids. I discovered that I loved painting, resin, decoupage and clay work, and others really loved what I was doing. I started selling a few pieces locally and
decided this is how I want to spend my evenings. So now I spend the day working, taking care of the animals, gardening in the summer and enjoying creating beautiful artwork. And spending time with my 8 grandchildren. My oldest granddaughter loves drawing and clay work. My oldest grandson who is also colorblind paints the most beautiful purple and green oceans I have ever seen.
I still struggle sometimes with what color to match with what I am working on, or if doing a pour painting what colors clash but when I get stuck I ask my husband or check a color chart. So if you too are colorblind don't listen to anyone grab a brush and paint a pink sky.
