About this Product
Thick full grained vegetable tanned leather is the star of this hand crafted, high quality XL game deck case. The box is rugged and durable while the leather provides a rich look and feel - a great combination and the perfect storage for coveted game cards.
This case will stand upright and cards are placed in vertically. It was designed to hold standard card sizes (sleeved, double sleeved, or unsleeved cards) while leaving room at the top for extra dice and counters. Flaps were added to the sides to assure your precious cargo stays secure inside the case until you open it.

True Craftworks
Meet the Maker
I have always had an interest in handcrafts and art since I was a young boy. My father is an artist & former art teacher, so from early on I learned to respect and appreciate arts & crafts and the time and love that goes into the creative process.
Following my passion, I pursued a degree in Fine Arts. Early positions in graphic design cascaded into a career in the game industry.
After stepping away from the industry I moved to refocus on more creative pursuits and get back to working with my hands.
Being a long-time game enthusiast and not being satisfied with all the mass-produced game card cases, I decided to make one for myself. From there I branched out into doing other special projects for my family. My pieces were receiving a lot of positive feedback which gave me the inspiration to start making pieces for others who might enjoy and appreciate them too.
Although the market has changed quite a bit over the last several years with mass produced items masquerading as handmade, I am proud to continue crafting hand made goods at home in my studio for the love and enjoyment of the creative process.
My interests in world religions, spirituality, philosophy, ancient symbology & lore, mythology across all cultures permeate throughout my work and art pieces.
It feels fantastic to use my hands to create objects of lasting beauty and longevity.
The pieces made in my studio are crafted - created with passion. They are true craftworks.
How it’s Made
The leather was hand cut from a thick and rugged full grain vegetable tanned leather hide. We use full grain leather which retains the full richness and character of the leather. Vegetable tanned leather will develop a wonderful patina with use.
The pieces were precision cut for quality.
The leather was specially hand dyed in an antique brown to enhance the natural beauty of the leather with a unique distressed finish. Our hand-dyed leather process produces various shades of brown with depth in the color. The natural character of the real full grain leather combined with the hand dying process makes each case unique.
A heavy antique brass metal clasp was attached to keep the case closed when not in use.
The entire box is covered with a protective sealant and a wax finish that serves as moisture protection against the occasional spilled energy drink.
The case was hand sewn with incredibly tight hand stitching using heavy duty ivory colored waxed thread. We use a saddle stitch, which is a proven hand stitching method for keeping all the seams super tight and to prevent unraveling.
What is Vegetable Tanned Leather?
Vegetable tanning is an organic process to preserve the leather. It uses natural tannins from plant sources, making it more environmentally friendly. It’s a slow process which takes weeks to months to complete. Vegetable-tanned leather has some rigidity to it, which helps the product to retain its shape and integrity. Vegetable-tanned leather will soften and develop a rich patina over time, meaning your item will develop a unique and appealing appearance as it ages, only getting better with time. By contrast, chrome-tanned leather is quickly chemically and more inexpensively tanned. It may present toxins to the environment and manufacturing employees. "Vegan", faux, or PU leather is petroleum-based polyurethane/vinyl.
