hillside designs az is a collaboration between artisans and partners james tolbert and cristy guleserian. drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the foothills of south mountain, we create functional art pieces from our in-home studio and woodshop.
we value fine craftsmanship which ensures each piece you acquire has been born from raw materials and will always be wholly unique. Over time they will form their character as they continue to age and patina.
we customize a blend of natural aggregate to create our concrete, which when cast result in unique jardinières, bowls, luminaires, and candles.
our woodenware is hand-crafted from rescued hardwood that’s been discarded or forgotten.
our hand-poured candles are 100 percent soy wax and scented with custom blends of all natural essential oils.

processing time: once you acquire a piece from hillside designs az it typically takes 3-5 Days for us to process, pack and ship your new treasure to you.

Care Instructions: we value fine craftsmanship which ensures each piece you acquire has been born from raw materials and will always be wholly unique. Over time they will form their character as they continue to age and patina. our woodenware is treated with food safe oil and wax. wipe clean with a damp cloth when necessary and periodically treat it with a food safe wax.
Candle Care & Burning Instructions:
- Burn within sight
- Keep away from flammable materials
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
Keep wick centered & trimmed to 1/4" to ensure even burning & prevent flame from becoming too large. Burn only on a stable, heat resistant surface for no more than four hours at a time. Stop using when only 1/4" of wax remains. Do not move the candle while burning or if wax is hot.
