About this Product
So, you heard this forest was enchanted and came here to, what, seek help from the magical creatures? Party with the Fey Folk? I hate to burst your bubble, but not every enchantment is good. Some will leave the woods like this, a haunted place of death and decay where toxic toadstools thrive and strange-colored fog clings to everything. You're far more likely to end up with your head in the local necromancer's collection (or discarded in the bushes like those poor unfortunates) than to get help under these barren trees. However, if you still want to party there is a very skinny lady by that rock, just waiting for someone to give her one last dance.

Angelic Relics
Meet the Maker
Beth Ann Borth, Owner & Lead Designer
My jewelry making journey started with making a “grandkids” birthstone necklace for my mom in ‘09. Then came angel birthstone necklaces for my sister and sisters-in-law. The odd bracelet here, a couple pairs of earrings there. In 2017 my younger son, Stephen, convinced me to try to make it a business. He jumped in making gemstone jewelry, and my older son, Andrew, followed weaving chainmail rings. And so Angelic Relics & Modern Treasures was born. The “relics” portion of our name comes from the fact we like to take broken jewelry, weird estate pieces, or things that were never meant to be jewelry, and turn them into unique new jewelry pieces. We had a good couple years run, but pandemic schedules and Andrew striking out on his own meant we had to shelve the business. Schedules have finally shifted back, so we redesigned our logo, dropped the last half of our name, and launched a new online store. Thanks for checking us out!

How it’s Made
Materials used: glass, dyed howlite, milky quartz, acrylic, resin, crackled black agate, mother-of-pearl, coppertone components, silvertone components, gunmetal components
What is howlite?
Howlite is a mineral that forms in irregular white lumps with a spiderweb of light gray or black veins. It's relatively soft and porous, which makes it an ideal material to carve and easy to dye. Howlite is most often dyed blue to resemble top-quality turquoise, but examples can be found dyed in every color imaginable. Natural howlite is sometimes sold as "white turquoise" or "white buffalo turquoise", but the two minerals are completely unrelated.
What is milky quartz?
Quartz is one of the most plentiful minerals in the world, with many different named varieties based on color and crystal size. Milky quartz is a macrocrystalline (crystals can be seen unaided) variety where inclusions or crystal masses create a translucent-to-opaque white color.
What is agate?
Agate is a type of cryptocrystalline (crystals are hard to see under a microscope) quartz. It can be found worldwide in a wide variety of colors and patterns, most famously in curved, earth-tone bands. Agate is often heated dry then dropped into cool liquid dye to produce quench-crackle dyed agate in any color imaginable.
What is mother-of-pearl?
Mother-of-pearl is a fanciful name for the colorful inner shells of pearl-bearing clams. Also known as nacre, mother-of-pearl can be found in all the same colors as pearls.
