Hot Chili Pepper Purse
This was a fun purse to make!
I used scraps of cotton fabrics in red, green and black, some printed, some solid. The bag is padded and then quilted between the stripes. The stripes include a solid green, printed green, red and black chilis and southwest motif on red background ~ The flap is closed with hook and loop and topped with a big red button ~ There is a bead tassel with a coyote, cactus and cowboy boot charms hanging from the bottom hook & loop piece
It is lined with a green cotton fabric ~ One side has a very large pocket trimmed with the pepper fabric ~ The other side has a medium pocket in the pepper fabric.
The strap is 50” long
Purse body is 11” wide x 11” tall with a 2” wide base
Hand wash cold ~ Lay to dry ~ Iron if needed

Meet the Maker
I am a mom of 2 and Grandma to 3 precocious little ones! I have crafted my entire life (Thanks, MOM!) and worked the last 16 years in a Tailoring Shop. Now that I am retired, it is time to share my stash of "creations". I sew, knit, crochet and embroider mostly, although I have dabbled in painting some wood crafts and am attempting some jewelry creations. I am an active "scavenger" for vintage fabric, trims, buttons, beads, buckles, baubles and other odd items to use in my creations. Because of this, I rarely make the same item twice the same way. I feel this ensures a type of personalization for each unique customer!

How it’s Made
I have been collecting fun cotton fabric scraps for 20 years. Every so often I will rummage through a tote and pull out what catches my eye that day and see what it inspires me to make.
