This word Maker where did it come from, in my day we were called craftsman. I spent 45 years building prototypes for many different manufacturing company's working with some of most state of the art machinery, but at home my old machinery brought me peace and relaxation.
It
is funny how you start doing things and the next thing you know you
are selling them. I make everything by
hand from native and exotic hardwoods, we add stone, some resin, a
little bone, precious metals, all ways looking for something unique.
All of my jewelry is designed and
handmade by me.

How it’s Made
So what is Goncalo Alves
Goncalo Alves sometime called Tigerwood, jobillo, is an easily recognizable exotic hardwood that comes from South America. With a scientific name of Astronium fraxinifolium is a tropical timber, it has a orange-hued primary color, and the dark striped (black or dark brown) which often decorates its surface. The wood is heavy and hard.
The center of the piece is flamed copper the process of using heat to produce amazing colors and patterns. Holding in the center piece of polished copper.
Topping of the piece is a raw copper wire bail
It has been given a patina to give it a darker, antiqued look.
