Meet the Maker

This word Maker where did it come from, in my day we were called craftsman. I spent 45 years building prototypes for many different manufacturing company's working with some of most state of the art machinery, but at home my old machinery brought me peace and relaxation.
It is funny how you start doing things and the next thing you know you are selling them. I make everything by hand from native and exotic hardwoods, we add stone, some resin, a little bone, precious metals, all ways looking for something unique. All of my jewelry is designed and handmade by me.
Handcrafted Jewelry made in America In a world where everything is mass-produced, there is something special about handcrafted pieces. They are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that you won't find anywhere else.

How it’s Made

About this necklace:
First what is Blood Wood or Satine, it is an exotic South American import, scientific name is Brosimum Rubescens.  Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. — a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections. I assure you there is no imperfection in the wood it's just a look.

The piece is cut to shape and hand carved for the gold powder that gets glued in to the carvings.
Then the piece is finished with many coats of finish and polished to a high gloss.
A brass ferrule is installed for the stainless bail
