Cascadia Pens
Meet the Maker
Welcome to Cascadia Pens, where quality craftsmanship meets unique design. Hi my name is Robert, and I am the craftsman behind each and every pen that I create.
Based in the Great Pacific Northwest, I started turning pens in 2018 and quickly became addicted to the process. There's something truly special about taking a piece of wood or resin and turning it into a beautiful and functional writing instrument.
At Cascadia Pens, I take pride in the quality of my workmanship and the uniqueness of each pen that I create. I purchase my supplies from other small businesses whenever possible, supporting the local economy and ensuring that each pen is made with the highest quality materials available.
Whether you're looking for a gift for a special someone or a beautiful pen for your own use, you'll find it here at Cascadia Pens. Thank you for visiting my shop today.
How it’s Made
Handmade lathe-turned pens are a true work of art, created by skilled craftsmen who take pride in their workmanship. The process of creating a handmade pen starts with selecting the materials. This can be a variety of materials such as wood, acrylic, or resin. Once the material has been selected, it is cut to the appropriate size and shape for the pen.
Next, the material is mounted onto the lathe and carefully turned to create the desired shape and design of the pen. This is a delicate process that requires precision and skill. The craftsman must carefully shape and sand the material to ensure a smooth and even finish. Finally, the pen is assembled with high-quality hardware and a refill to create a functional writing instrument that is both beautiful and unique. The result is a pen that is not only functional but also a work of art that can be treasured for years to come.
In conclusion, the process of creating a handmade lathe-turn pen is a time-consuming and intricate process that requires skill and expertise. The end result is a beautiful and unique writing instrument that is both functional and a work of art. If you are looking for a special gift for someone or a unique pen for your own use, consider a handmade lathe-turn pen. You will be supporting skilled craftsmen and owning a piece of art that is sure to be treasured for years to come.
Shop Policies
Handmade Disclaimer: Please note that all items in my store are handmade. All handmade items, by nature, may have minor imperfections. These minor imperfections are what makes each item one of a kind. Every piece is made by me. There are no two items that will be exactly the same, especially the wood items. Wood, like all natural materials, has inherent disparities in color & grain pattern, which means there may be blemishes, holes (that may or may not be filled) and small cracks which are unique to each piece. This is what makes each individual item unique .
