Hi! My name is Ashley and I am the owner of Living Farms. It is truly an honor to serve our customers and community. Living Farms was created in my tiny apartment in an itty bitty kitchen back in 2018. I had just given birth to my youngest son and found myself overweight & unhealthy in every way. All I knew something desperately needed to change. Not knowing where to begin i just decided to make one good decision in my diet (cutting out sugar) and once I conquered that it lead to another good decision and another and another. I quickly began delving into the world of fermentation and making sourdough in that tiny little kitchen. When I mastered the art of making water kefir I started listing all my extra grains on Facebook marketplace just as a way to make a little extra money to cover the costs of all my kitchen science experiments. Before I knew it, I was growing water kefir to keep up with the demand I had never expected. At the same time i was taking classes to become an herbalist. I never really considered being a business owner it all just sort of happened piece by piece but I am so glad that it did! My motive was always to take better care of me and my family and to help my close friends and family. The last few years watching my business grow before my eyes has been such a privilege and a joy. As someone who literally built this business out of nothing with my bare hands, I relate and connect with all of my customers on a personal level. My heart truly wants to serve and give back all that I have received throughout this incredible journey.
Quality is so important here, from the herbs themselves to the care that is put into creating these medicines to the interactions that I have with my customers. We purchase all of our herbs whole and powder them as needed to ensure the freshest highest quality. We believe small batches made by hand with care and intention produce the most potent medicines. I understand how different each herb is and have gotten to know them all intimately. Herbs are my passion and I am always looking for new ways to grow, improve, & learn!
Thank you so much for being an invaluable part of our farm and journey!
