Well here we are. You're here to read about me and I'm here to tell you that I've been making pottery for 10 years. It did not start out pretty, in fact I really sucked at it but loved it enough to stick with it. I took a Ceramics class in college as an art major who didn't know what medium I wanted to use in my career. Turns out that I just love to play in the mud. So I took one class and was hooked. The rest of my pottery journey has been practice, learning and figuring things out on my own to get creative pieces that are personal and artistic.
The studio is in our backyard, a small 10x18 space where I throw pots and have my two kilns, Haphaestus (he's smaller) and Gustav (the big guy).
It hasn't been easy but my husband Clarence, and I have been full time in pottery since 2020 when things kicked off making sourdough starter crocks and butter keepers... because, you know, everyone needed a hobby in 2020. Clarence handles all of the shipping and will help me design pieces or carve them but his most important job is staying home and taking care of our 3 kids and our pets.
I'm the Ceramic Artist. I make the forms, add sculptural flair, stamp, put handles on and all of that fun stuff. Since childhood I always wanted to be an artist or a writer. Turns out you can do both, so I write in my spare time and play with my kids whenever I can.
From there, if you have questions or want to know me better, feel free to send me a message. I'm happy to answer any questions but this is getting long winded. Now go be free, and buy lots of pots!
