The concept for Dinosaurnaments originated in 2010, during a challenging time for our family. My son, Noah, was just four years old and deeply fascinated by dinosaurs when he was diagnosed with a Wilms’ tumor in one of his kidneys. As my wife and I navigated the difficult journey of his kidney surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, we spent countless days in the oncology ward, supporting Noah through his recovery. His resilience and strength inspired us all, and we were overjoyed when he was eventually declared cancer-free.
During those long days in the hospital, we found ways to pass the time together—reading stories, playing games, and creating crafts, much like the other families on the ward. It was during one of these moments that Noah and I came up with the idea of creating dinosaur-themed lawn ornaments for the upcoming Christmas season.
As a commercial artist, I was eager to bring our shared vision to life, and Noah, a talented young artist in his own right, eagerly collaborated with me. Together, we sketched out designs and crafted our first dinosaur lawn ornaments. The response from our neighbors was overwhelmingly positive; people stopped by to admire our work and even inquired about purchasing them. That’s when the idea to create smaller, Christmas tree ornaments took shape.
To bring this vision to reality, we invested in a laser machine to produce miniature versions of our lawn ornaments. Over the years, this simple project evolved into a family business centered on creativity, connection, and joy. Today, we continue to design new ornaments, each crafted with the same passion and care that began in that hospital room.
At Dinosaurnaments, we’re proud to offer ornaments that can be personalized for your loved ones. Hearing the stories from our customers and knowing our creations bring smiles to others is deeply rewarding. What started as a way to brighten a difficult time has grown into a celebration of family, resilience, and the joy of giving.
